August 4-11: We have arrived in Great Britain! Following an early flight from Newark and a restful night at the London Heathrow Hilton Garden (not sure what they used for insulation, NO outside noise!) Breakfasted and on our way to Swaffham to spend a few days with the Pericles at their lovely home.
Our first few days here we were spoiled beyond belief. I think my favorite part of England thus far – no bugs!!! (Mosquitoes or gnats) This means you can leave your windows open with no fear, even without screens! Sitting outside in the evening was delightful!
We stayed busy visiting the lovely area around their home, including a visit to Sandringham where we indulged in the delicious Celebration cocktail 🤩
I’ve made the mistake of not doing a daily posting, so my memory of what we saw the first 3 days is a little fuzzy, but will post pictures and label as I can!
The first 3 days were a 5* experience and on Thursday we travelled to London! I accidentally posted my Big Ben picture prior and couldn’t figure out how to delete it. 😂
Again, so many things in the past 4 days have made this a memorable trip, so I will just post another gallery and hopefully will get back on track of being more intentional once we board our ship this afternoon! Our friends Donna and Stephen arrived from California and added to the party, along with my son David who was able to spend one day with us on his way home from Paris 🥰
I have loved this time in London and enjoyed being with Jim and Joann even more ….
